Right hand drive, 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive (2nd, 3rd & 4th) |

This Triumph TR5 was registered on 19th July 1968 and since that time has only had two former keepers, till the time we purchased the car in December 2006. The car is finished in a very dark Royal blue, with a black interior and white hood. The car has a wonderful veneered dashboard, with a wood rim steering wheel.
The TR5 was an interim model between the TR4A and the TR6, and was only produced for just over a year between 29th August 1967 and 19th September 1968, with only 2947 being produced, and this one being number 558 from the last. They handle very well and the 6-cylinder 2.5 litre fuel injected engine delivers more than enough power to be comfortable in modern traffic.
Externally the TR5 was very similar to the TR4A with, redesigned grill, and sidelights mounted on the front wings in chrome pods, set at the end of the chrome wing side mouldings. The engine is an inline six cylinder 2498 c.c. Fuel injected unit, with a four-speed gearbox. Benefiting from overdrive on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. Thus making a very swift car that is a joy to drive. There is an abundance of power and plenty of torque from this engine.
