This striking four-door saloon car is a wonderful combination of grace and elegance, with chrome wire wheels, and a good turn of speed. Manufactured on October 25th 1966 and first registered on November 21st 1966 it is finished in its original opalescent maroon, with beige leather interior, and burgandy red carpets. It even has little picnic tables set into the front seat backs – no wonder the indefatigable Inspector Morse chose one.
The Mk II Jaguar became one of the most prevalent cars in the British police force in the 1960s, not least because their speed had already made them extremely popular as getaway cars for the gangland robbers of the time. These days they offer pleasant, relaxed motoring in a class of their own.
The Mark 2 Jaguar was made famous by the television series Inspector Morse that was shown around the world in the 1990’s.
